Why did my post fail?
Posts shows the reason for each network under the status. Most reasons are fixed by reconnecting the account or changing the photo.
Find the reason
- A red banner counts the posts that could not be published. Open Posts → Failed (or Missed); partly published posts are under All.
- Under the status, each network shows its reason: “Network: reason” (red = failed, grey = still waiting).
- Fix the cause (table below), then Edit and Post again: every account of the post is sent again.
A partly published post (out on some networks) cannot be edited: create a new post for the networks that failed.
Reasons and what to do
| Reason shown | What to do |
|---|---|
| access expired, reconnect the account | Social Accounts → Reconnect. |
| a permission is missing, reconnect the account | Reconnect and approve every permission. |
| the account was disconnected | Connect it again, or untick it in the post. |
| a photo or video is needed | Add one (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube need it). |
| the photo or video is too large for this network | Use a smaller file. |
| the network refused the photo or video | Try another file or format. |
| the same post was already published | Change the text: networks refuse exact duplicates. |
| waiting for the network’s posting limit: it goes out by itself | Nothing: it is not a failure. |
| the network asked to slow down / the network did not answer | Nothing: JustCaster tries again 3 times (after 1, 5 and 15 minutes). |
| too late: not sent | The post was more than 2 hours late (status Missed): edit and schedule it again. |
| TikTok has not approved JustCaster yet… | Post from a private TikTok account until the audit. |
| … (JustCaster support is on it) | Nothing to fix on your side (X credits, Pinterest or Google approvals): once support has fixed it, Edit the post and Post it again. |
You also get the notification “Post not published” (bell and e-mail) and, if you set one, an automation can try the post again once.
