Connecting accounts
Reconnect an account
When a network ends JustCaster’s access, posts to that account fail at their time. Reconnect the account, then schedule the failed posts again.
How you know
- The Dashboard shows “1 item needs your attention.” and Social Accounts shows “1 account needs attention.”.
- The account carries the pill Reconnect or Error, and you get the notification “Reconnect an account” (bell and e-mail).
- In Posts, a failed post shows “access expired, reconnect the account”.
Reconnect
- Open Social Accounts and select Reconnect on the network’s card.
- Sign in on the network with the same account and approve every permission again.
- Back in JustCaster, the line says “… reconnected” and the pill turns Connected. Posts scheduled from now go out at their time.
- Posts that failed meanwhile are not sent again by themselves: open them in Posts, Edit, and schedule them again.
LinkedIn: every 60 days
LinkedIn gives a 60-day access with no automatic renewal. From 14 days before the end, the account shows “LinkedIn access ends on [date]: reconnect before then”, the card button becomes Reconnect, and Create post warns when a post would go out after that date. The other networks are renewed by JustCaster automatically.
Why access ends
- You changed the password of the network account, or removed JustCaster from its connected apps.
- You lost the admin role on the Page, or a permission was not granted.
- The network ends access after a fixed time (LinkedIn 60 days).
