How a boost works
Six steps, all on one screen in JustCaster.
Choose the post
Open any published post in JustCaster and press Boost. Posts that already perform well make the best ads.
Pick a goal
More engagement (likes, comments, shares) or reaching as many people as possible.
Choose who sees it
Whole countries, or people around a city or an exact place — plus age range.
Set budget and duration
A total budget and a number of days. The network spreads it over the period.
Pay
With your own ad account (the network charges your card) or through JustCaster (one invoice).
Review, live, results
The network checks the ad, usually within a day. Then results appear in your analytics next to your organic posts.
Location and radius, explained
The most important choice in a boost is where. Here is how each option works — and how much ground a radius really covers.
Three ways to choose the place
People in whole countries
Everyone in the countries you tick. Best for online shops and brands that deliver everywhere.
People around a city
People who live in or near a city, within the distance you choose. Best for local shops, restaurants and services.
People around an exact place
Around an address or a point you paste from Google Maps (latitude, longitude) — or your current location.
Try it: how far does a radius reach?
- Covers
- The whole city
- Area
- 1,963 km²
- Across
- 50 km
- A few streets around you
- Your neighbourhood
- Your district and the next ones
- The whole city
- The city and its suburbs
- The whole region
Paris, Île-de-France, France · 25 km around
Meta says about 4.7m – 5.5m people use Facebook / Instagram there.
Example of what JustCaster shows. The real estimate comes from the network when you boost, for your exact place, age range and network.
Who counts as “in the area”
People who live there
Based on the location people give and the places their phone is usually in.
People recently there
Visitors, commuters and tourists. Meta now combines both in one setting: “living in or recently in”.
A guide, not a wall
Networks may show the ad a little beyond the circle when it helps results. Mention your area in the post so the right people respond.
Which radius for which business?
A starting point, not a rule. Too small and the network warns that the audience is too narrow; too large and you pay to reach people who will never come.
Housing, jobs, credit and political ads follow stricter rules on every network: a larger minimum area and no age targeting.

Two ways to pay
Your own ad account
Connect your Meta, TikTok or Pinterest ad account once. The ad runs there and the network charges your card directly, in the account’s currency. No JustCaster fee.
Through JustCaster
No ad account? Pay JustCaster and the boost runs on our ad accounts. You receive one invoice; the service fee is shown before you pay.
Budget, duration and results
You set a total budget and a number of days; the network spreads the spend over the period and stops at your total. You can pause or stop a boost at any time and only pay what was spent.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a boost cost?
You choose the total budget. With your own ad account, the network charges your card and JustCaster adds nothing. Through JustCaster, you pay the budget plus a service fee shown before you confirm.
Can I reach only people near my shop?
Yes. On Facebook and Instagram, choose “People around a city”, type your address or paste its coordinates, and pick a distance from about 2 km. On TikTok and Pinterest, choose your city or region.
Why is the audience shown as a range?
It is the network’s own estimate, based on how many people use it in that place and age range. It changes when you change the distance, the age range or the network.
What does “Use my current location” do?
Your browser asks first. Only the point is used to place the ad; it is not kept anywhere else.
Why was my boost rejected?
Each network reviews ads against its own rules. JustCaster shows the reason it gives; edit the post or the targeting and send it again.
Can I stop a boost early?
Yes, pause or stop it at any time. You only pay what was already spent.
Which posts can I boost?
Most posts published on your connected Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest accounts. A network may refuse some posts, for example ones with music you don’t have the rights to.
Where do I see the results?
In Analytics and in your reports, next to your organic posts: people reached, interactions, money spent and cost per result.
Your best post deserves more people.
Connect your accounts for free and boost from the post itself. For bigger campaigns, our team builds a media plan.
