Why online video?

People search YouTube for ideas, reviews and how-tos, and watch it more and more on the TV. A video ad shows your product, your place or your team in a way an image can’t — and with skippable ads you only pay when people choose to watch.

Beyond YouTube, outstream video plays inside articles on news and lifestyle sites, reaching people who don’t watch YouTube much.

Ad formats

  • Skippable in-stream

    Skip after 5 s

Plays before or during a video; you usually pay only when someone watches 30 seconds or the whole ad, or clicks.

  • Non-skippable in-stream

Up to 15 s (longer on TV)

A short spot viewers watch in full, bought per 1,000 impressions.

  • Bumper

    6 s, non-skippable

A six-second reminder, perfect for frequency and to support a longer spot.

  • Shorts and outstream

    Vertical 9:16 or in-article

Vertical ads between Shorts, and videos that play inside articles on partner sites.

Budget and billing

Skippable video is bought per view (CPV); bumpers and non-skippable spots per 1,000 impressions (CPM). Video can start with a modest budget and scale with the results.

Media budget and management fee are always shown separately in your media plan and on your invoice.

What makes these ads work

  • Hook in the first five seconds, before the skip button.
  • Show your brand early, not only at the end.
  • Make a vertical version for mobile and Shorts.
  • Add a clear call to action and a link.
  • Pair a 30-second spot with 6-second bumpers.

Frequently asked questions

Do I pay if people skip my ad?

With skippable ads bought per view, generally no: you pay when someone watches 30 seconds (or the whole ad if shorter) or clicks.

Do I need a YouTube channel?

Yes, the video is uploaded to a YouTube channel — yours or one we set up for you. It can stay unlisted.

What is outstream video?

A video ad that plays inside an article on a website, outside a video player. It starts muted when it comes into view.

Which length should I choose?

15 seconds is a good default; 30 seconds to explain more; 6-second bumpers to repeat the message cheaply.

Can my video ad appear on the TV?

Yes. YouTube is widely watched on TVs, and campaigns can include or exclude TV screens.
